"Bill and I count our many blessings all the time. One of the best things about our move to the mountains is that we have many artist friends and are so happy to have their art in our home. Here is an abstract by Paula Jo Miller. Such talent and reminds me of home."

About this painting:

My partner in this project is a strong, intelligent, creative woman - someone who doesn’t fit the “victim” stereotype. She’s living proof that there is no stereotype. After repeated cycles of abuse, she had the courage to break free from her situation.

Hearing her story inspired me to paint “Find Your Own Path”, because that’s exactly what she did. And now she’s generously sharing her story to help others behind her. I’m honored to be a part of this project and work with this courageous woman.

"Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

"The participants in Paula Jo Miller's workshop at Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve said it was the best they'd ever attended!  She led 10 people of multiple ages, in a wide variety of techniques and materials, and encouraged each person to reach their potential in creativity and vision.  Paula was very organized, friendly, and flexible, and left the workshop room clean and tidy, despite the use of large amounts of paint and materials."
